Decisions Are Made On Emotion, Then Justified By Logic

It has been said that man is a rational animal. All my life I have been searching for evidence which could support this.
______________
Bertrand Russell

While this quote is kind of funny on the surface, when you think about it a bit, you realize it contains a great deal of truth. First, many people simply are not rational. They’d like to think they are, but when it comes down to it, they make decisions based on emotion, and then try to rationalize those decisions after the fact. Second, and taking it a step further, humans are not predominantly rational animals, even those with great logic skills – they are emotional animals. Sell, persuade and anticipate based on emotional triggers and patterns of behavior rather than logic, and you will enjoy far greater success in your endeavors.
